Mason 6 Months

Mason is getting so big. We recently printed out some
pictures from the time he was born until now and wow has
he changed. He looks SO unbelievably different
every day (We may be biased, but we think he is getting
cuter every day as well). Over this last month he has
made some significant developmental changes. He is
turning over to get from one side of the room to another
in a matter of seconds. And just the other day Mason
showed his first signs of crawling. He can't quite get
up on his arms and knees, but he does get up on his elbows
and feet (pike position) and schooches forward. I was
telling a friend this the other day and then said "oh maybe
I should help him figure out how to crawl" and he said
"don't do it, because once he crawls there is no turning back".
We have since resisted and listened to these wise words of
wisdom - thanks for the tip Mike!

Recently Mason has also been trying to sit up. He is doing
a great job of it until he sees something that he wants and
just reaches over without realizing he can't without falling
over. As long as he is on a soft surface - it is pretty
cute to watch. Ahh to be young :) Last month Mason came
down to San Diego with us again (his second roundtrip flight
which he was a champ on) and we took him back to the beach.
This time we took the plunge and put his feet in the water.
He didn't mind his feet being in the ocean water, until a
wave (and when I say a wave, just think we were in the water
to our ankles, so not much of a wave) came in and then he
screamed as if we were pinching him. We stopped and tried
again before we left the beach and got the same reaction.
Don't worry Uncle Kenny - we haven't given up on him liking
the ocean. We stayed with the Lea's while we were in San
Diego and Mason was intrigued by his friends Nicholas and
Gigi - he would just stare at them and check out what they
were doing. And as Nicholas said - Mason told him he loved
him - ahhh his first words ;) Since he did so well with
the Lea's we decided to leave him for his first over night
without us so we could enjoy his Aunt Kristan and Uncle
Alex's wedding. From what Janice told us (I'm pretty sure
she wasn't lying) he was really good.

The biggest change in Masons life over the last month is the
addition of a nanny. Mason has a nanny watching him here at
home while one of us is at home and so far he really loves
the nanny. Could it be because her name is Adriana, she is
Latin and she is 32 and NO it is not his mother just a
coincidence. She plays with him and reads and talks to him
in Spanish, which should solidify to you that it isn't me.

I have attached some pictures from this past month and as you
will see Mason is still a really good eater!

Enjoy!

We will post these on our blog and maybe even post the video
of his first dip in the ocean.
